Summer’s in full swing and weekends in Denver are full of sunshine and every possible outdoorsy, summery activity that you could want. There’s kayaking, canoeing, rafting, tubing, hiking, climbing, swimming, and fishing. There’s Elitch Garden’s or the Botanic Gardens, the Denver Zoo, Mile High Stadium, Coors Field, and any of over 200 parks in Denver proper alone! And never forget the nearly 40 Farmer’s Markets spread out across the Denver Metro area.
For the uninitiated, farmer’s markets are all about one thing: local, local, local. Primarily focused on food (because if you’re anything like us, you still need that foodie fix on weekends) farmer’s markets have local, independent vendors selling everything from farm fresh produce, to artisan crafted cheeses, to freshly baked breads and pastries, to sweet gooey honey from local beekeepers! And that’s not all, many of the larger farmer’s markets have expanded into vendors offering handcrafted jewelry, artwork, live music, and even petting zoos!
