This coming Monday, January 21st 2019, is Martin Luther King Junior Day! We know a great many of our clients will have the day off for this national holiday, however we would like to assure those of our clients who will remain open, that we will likewise be available and servicing all catering needs for the day.
For those who will be celebrating the birthday of acclaimed civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this coming Monday, there are a great many events around town you can attend – from the “Huddle with Hancock” breakfast with Denver Mayor Michael Hancock at 8:30 am, to the annual “Marade” (a.k.a. march and parade) on Colfax Avenue including both pre-marade and post-marade programs, to the MLK Jr. African American Heritage Rodeo at the Stock Show from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
We here at Gourmet for Good honor Dr. King and his legacy of fighting for the rights of all peoples to be equally free, respected, and honored, both by their fellow man, and by the institution of government which must by rights protect and support them. We recognize the universal truth that it is the responsibility of all people to continually strive to share care, compassion, and respect to all regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, nation of origin, or any other aspect of self. We owe it to ourselves and one another to fight to uphold these values in the face of adversity, and to do proud the legacy of Dr. King and all others who have lost their lives in this fight.
